The Story of a Group 30 Years in the Making:

Around 1975 Jeff and John started a barbershop quartet called the “Singing Scissors”.  Original members were:
John Kerr - bass
Jeff Kerr - lead
Tom Kindall - tenor
Dave Gladwell - baritone

Tom was pretty young at that time and his voice hadn’t changed yet.  Dave ended up going away to school and his sister Leslie joined the group as tenor.  At that time Tom switched over to baritone.  Although the next events are hazy, by 1977 this group became the Gloryland quartet.  John sang with the group from 1977-1987.  In 1987 he moved to PA and then formed the Pennsylvania Preachers.

Gloryland was: John, Jeff, Tom, Leslie from 1977-1987 and then from 1987-1997 the group was Jeff - bass, Tom - baritone, Leslie - tenor, Doug Pell - lead.  Eventually Doug’s job forced him to move (he lives in Grand Rapids, MI now) and they broke up at that time.
